With the ISA season in full swing, AA has forced its way to the top of the cash market, with it AA Internet Access ISA now offering a rate of 3.50%.
To be eligible, the money has to be new to the institution, transactions must be made via a nominated account, and a minimum of £2.5k must be invested.
This improved rate now includes a significantly higher bonus of 3.00% for 12 months, after which time a review will be required as the rate will drop dramatically.
As transfers in are not accepted this ISA is aimed at investors who have not yet found a home for this year’s tax free allowance or who are already planning ahead for the start of the 2012/13 ISA season.
A maximum five out of five Moneyfacts stars have been awarded.

Foreign sector lender, Citibank has come up with a special package for a special segment of customers. The target group comprises the people whose annual salary falls in the range of Rs. 3 lac and Rs. 15 lac.
A customer needs to maintain a relationship value of Rs. 2 lac with the bank to be eligible to avail the package. There are various other features that can lure the customers towards the package.
The customer will not be charged for cash withdrawal from the ATMs in India or overseas, no charge will be levied for the issuance of drafts. Duplicate statement, funds transfer, stop payment and assistance for account opening for customers relocating overseas are the other features that the bank is offering with the package.

What’s the scholarship about?
The National Payday Scholarship Fund will give $3,000 away annually to the winner of an essay contest hosted on the National Payday blog.
The focus of the essay is how short-term financing of any kind can benefit a person’s life. We encourage students to speak from personal experience, though it is not required.
Any current or incoming student at an educational institution in the United States is eligible to submit an essay on the suggested topic and win the scholarship.
The winner is not determined by a panel or judged quality but by social vote.

Australian banking major CBAexperienced a major malfunction of its Eftpos and ATM network, which the lender says was resolved by this morning. Despite that claim, retailers were still asking customers to sign for purchases this afternoon, with transactions still failing to reflect in online statements. Rival NAB also experienced problems with one of its IT platforms.
On Wednesday morning CBA released a statement which said the lender was; “Aware customers may have encountered difficulties when using ATMs and Eftpos overnight and earlier this morning. “
The problem with CBA’s platform began on Tuesday night, well in advance of the date changing to the 29th of February, an event that occurs only once every four years, and was initially thought to be the cause of the failure.
Separately, NAB also experienced a failure of its HICAPS system, which the lender operates to process medical payments.
