California’s average price fell 4.5 cents a gallon in the last week … Prices have dropped an average of 46.3 cents a gallon since May 2, the [Energy Department's Energy Information Administration ]said.

Nationally, the price rose an average of 0.5 cent to $3.579 a gallon, largely because of continuing problems with refineries in the Midwest … The national average peaked at $3.965 a gallon on May 9.The gasbuddy.com data shows a similar decline (graph below).

This price decline is good news, but it just takes us back close to the March levels – when it appeared gasoline prices were already a drag on economic activity. That is when Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) growth slowed, and consumer sentiment fell sharply.

Still this is better than $4 per gallon …

CENTRAL bankers are not meant to be quotable. When it comes to the euro-zone debt crisis, however, you can rely on European Central Bank (ECB) board members for a colourful soundbite. A Greek debt restructuring would be “suicide”, said Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, an Italian board member, last month. Jürgen Stark, the ECB’s chief economist, has blamed Anglo-Saxon “vested interests” for market chatter over restructuring. Such vehemence is striking. Some wonder whether the ECB’s own exposure to struggling peripheral economies explains it. If the likes of Greece were to default, after all, the ECB and its constituent national central banks (NCBs) would be in the financial firing-line. A report by Open Europe, a think-tank, this week warned of a “potentially huge” risk to taxpayers “buried in the ECB’s books”.

The ECB has made no secret about two ways in which it is exposed.

DESIGN agency Uniform is competing against Liverpool FC for a marketing award – thanks to a campaign that also features the club.

Liverpool-based Uniform has been nominated in the Best Digital Marketing Campaign category of the MBNA Northern Sports Awards 2011 in Manchester tonight.

It was shortlisted for its work creating a “brand experience” for Carlsberg at Anfield to raise awareness of the brand’s association with Liverpool FC.

Uniform commissioned Japanese artist Dragon 76 to create a Liverpool Legends mural.

Penny stocks are not always costed at a penny per share. There are a few that might be as high as a buck. If the sum of money that you have available for securities dealing is restricted making an investment in penny stocks may be a smart stock investment policy for you.

If you bought one thousand shares of a stock at ten per share, and that stock went to fifteen per share, your $100 becomes $150 or a cool fifty percent profit. If that ten stock instead went to a buck or maybe $10.00 per share, your takings would look dazzling definitely.

To find the true company, there are a couple of things you want to look for.

Perform a little research and find out how many shares the company holds in its float. The float is the amount of shares that are now being traded. Corporations mentioned on the Pink Sheets generally don’t officially report this number to the general public, but with a touch of research, you can discover it.
