South India based Mahesh Co-operative Bank has launched ATM card. The card has been christened as Mahesh RuPay ATM Card.
The card will be issued mainly to the no-frills accounts holders in collaboration with banks. ATMs provide an opportunity to the banks to reduce the transactions costs as well as it is of greater convenience for the customers also.
Rupay ATM cards are expected to give a healthy competition to the international card providers.

The decision to bring the stamp duty holiday to an end has been labelled a ‘tragedy’ by estate agents.
Any faint homes of the initiative being extended past the 24 March deadline were extinguished after the Chancellor failed to mention the scheme in last week’s Budget.
Before the end of the holiday, a 1% tax on properties worth between £125,000 and £250,000 had been waived for first time buyers.
Figures from the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) show property sales rose to their highest level in four months during February, with first time buyers making the most of the tax holiday.
The number of sales made at member branches increased across the UK .

Matt Giuliano counts his cards and adds up the savings. Gift cards, he bought for himself, but it’s not an actual present, just his way of saving hundreds on eating at his favorite restaurants, buying clothes and on big-ticket items like a new dishwasher.
“I shopped around and figured what the best price would be,” Giuliano said. “I saw that Lowe’s had a very good price and then I went online and saw that I could get $500 in gift cards.”
In the end, he saved $50 on a new dishwasher, all by logging onto cardcash. The discounts are different for each store.
A typical shopping trip for Matt and his wife will start at theputer, looking for discounted gift cards.

The Reserve Bank of Australia is developing new regulations which will ban companies from imposing excessive charges on their customer’s credit cards.
The RBA is proposing that providers such as Visa or Mastercard limit the amount that businesses are able to charge for transactions that take place on their customer’s credit cards.
Malcolm Edey of the RBA says that that the proposal limiting surcharges was at the final stage of consultation.
According to Dr. Edey, the regulations would restrict the surcharge that businesses can levy on their customers, though it would not necessarily result in a cap on the cost of the transaction. Dr. Edey says the RBA hopes that the new regulation would result in smaller transaction costs for both consumers and businesses.
Providers such as Visa would be able to take action against those business which violate the new regulations and continue to impose excessive surcharges.
